The City Folks

Many of the kids from the Army fraternity would have always seen their Dads as the true superhero for the things they did. I know it because I certainly did.Till this date, there is not a single instance when my chest doesn't swell up at acknowledging the fact that My Dad serves in the honorable and prestigious Armed forces.
Growing over the years, flocking through different parts of the country was something that was usual business. The very idea of having to stay in a place over 2 years seemed revolting. We all accepted new cities, schools and friends with open arms without much hesitation. It was certainly a life worth living. This is one of the prime reasons that calling yourself an 'Army Brat' means a lot to people.Even now in college, meeting another Brat brings in a feeling of warmth and trust.Suddenly you feel as you have found family in alien land. But obviously, every thing comes at a price. Even i try to, i certainly can't forget those days when my dad was in Kashmir and we were away snuggled up in a city far away from the dangerous valley, always having one thought at the back of our mind, whether my dad was safe or not.
Well, one thing is strange though, that on numerous occasions i have been witness to people speaking outrageously about how the people in the forces have such lavish lives without having to do much. Over a period of time, i have just come to ignore such people or have them 'amuse me' with their stupid thoughts for a while, only to give them a piece of my mind later.I don't blame them. It's not that they are at fault,it's the entire society of ours that is to be blamed for the same since with the set of parasitic creatures prevailing in our society, envying those who do something significant with  their lives is very natural.
